At the August 19, 2020, meeting of the Certificate of Need Review Board, a new emergency rule to continue to allow the Agency to grant temporary waivers to the normal CON process was approved.  A copy of the approved emergency rule can be found at the link below.

410-1-10-.05-E Emergency Provisions Related to COVID-19 Emergency

An emergency meeting of the Statewide Health Coordinating Council was held virtually on August 12, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.  A new emergency rule to continue to allow the Agency to grant temporary waivers to the normal CON process was approved at that time, and was signed by Gov. The Agency has created a form to be filled out and submitted in order to apply for an Emergency Waiver from the CON process as described in the Emergency Rules.  Pursuant to Ala. Admin r. 410-1-3-.09, all documents to be filed with the State Agency shall be submitted electronically to shpda.online@shpda.alabama.gov.  Please be advised that, due to staffing issues related to the State of Emergency, SHPDA shall only accept payments for the applications for emergency waivers through the online payment processor, a link to which can be found below.

SHPDA now has the ability to accept electronic payments.  Please click on the link below to access the new online electronic payment portal.  The portal will allow for both credit card and electronic check processing for any/all Agency related filings, as well as for payment of invoices.
